Tower Support - North Kent Wind Farm

Chatham-Kent, ON, Canada

Hydro One Networks Inc. (HONI) required a foundation system to support seven (7) CGS towers near Chatham, Ontario. These proposed towers connected the power generated by the wind turbines to the Ontario electrical grid. The soil conditions consisted of soft surface soils 30 metres deep to bedrock.

EBS developed and presented to HONI specialized drilling techniques that were reviewed and accepted by HONI and MOECC. EBS designed and installed micropiles and completed the project within the scheduled time and budget.

Depth: 20 to 24 Metres
Total Number of Micropiles: 28
