The City of Barrie planned to expand Centennial Park by realigning Lakeshore Drive. This initiative would increase the green space, pathways and parking along the waterfront. Deposits of organic material (peat) and 20 to 45 metres of soft clay required the design of culverts, stormceptors, sanitary and storm sewers to be supported on reinforced concrete grade beams and helical piles.
