The Xstrata Nickel Plant required an addition to the existing facility to meet increased demand. This project required a quick mobilization after award with tight timelines for completion. EBS was chosen for our design-build capabilities, quick mobilization, and safety record. EBS’s design team determined that soil bonded micropiles were the most cost effective design to support the structures.
Compression Load: 500kN (113 kips)
Tension Load: 385kN (87 kips)
Total Length of Micropile: 12 metres
Total Number of Micropiles: 90
