The construction of the new Gordie Howe International Bridge between Windsor and Detroit required supporting infrastructure to contribute to the overall completion of the project. Part of the additional development included three new dead-end Hydro One transmission towers at a generating station for the new alignment.
The site comprised of artisan conditions with contaminated water to bedrock. EBS developed unique installation techniques that would contain the artisan conditions and capture any contaminated water. We designed and installed a deep foundation system to support the highly loaded structures in difficult soil conditions and installed in limited overhead access conditions underneath existing hydro lines.
