CURRENT OPENINGS
DRILLING CREW MEMBER
Reports To: Foreman (FM), or Lead Hand (LH)
Position Status: Full Time
Experience Level(s): Intermediate
POSITION SUMMARY
MAIN DUTIES:
- Lean aspects of drilling crew roles and tasks relative to micropiles for commercial, industrial and agricultural properties.
- Abide by health and safety regulations
- Document on pile records the encountered depths and locations.
- Report any deficiencies or needs for the role or project as needed.
- Ongoing communication with fellow crew members re: safety concerns, job planning, and instruction is understood by all
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Perform physical labour in all sorts of weather, wearing protective equipment.
- Lift and handle heavy materials/tooling associated with the job.
- Some noise and vibration may require the use of earplugs and other safety devices.
- The number of working hours depends on the completion dates, minimum 40 hours per week.
- The hours may be long, irregular and may require working out of town for extended periods of time due to job requirement
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid G Class Drivers License.
- Completion of a two-to-three-year drilling program or two-to-three years of work experience in the trade required or experience in lieu of.
- Experience operating heavy equipment is an asset (Grout Plant, Skid Steer, Zoom Boom, and Excavator)
- Willingness to continually learn and take on different roles and responsibilities as required
- Welding skills an asset
- Mechanical repair skills an asset

Helical Pier/Micro-Pile Lead Hand
Duties & Responsibilities
The Lead Hand assists the foreman in leading the crew and is accountable for the execution of the work, including safety, quality & production, by ensuring that the crew works to job specifications. The Lead Hand also assumes Foreman duties & responsibilities when the Foreman is off-site, or away from the work area.
Assist Foreman in the supervision of one or more crews engaged in installing helical or micropile system installations.
Assist Foreman in determining, calculating and securing all tools and materials required for the job, each day
Assist in identifying needs and deficiencies in the plan
Able to interpret and work from work orders, plans and sketches provided for job site
Identifies location of services and communicates this information to crew prior to excavation
Mentor new crew members
Maintaining work standards and outlining behavioural expectations to ensure crew morale and productivity
Working with crew to overcome work challenges assist in maintaining harmony among the team, recognizing, addressing and resolving issues/problems
Examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
Assures that tools and equipment are properly maintained and kept in proper working condition
Direct public inquiries to Foreman; provide information and contact information to new potential clients
Helps with maintenance and cleaning of vehicles and equipment
Performs all other related work as required

Drillers
MAIN DUTIES:
- Abide by health and safety regulations, learn all require paperwork for machine/equipment inspections and related safety documentation as required.
- Learn and perform all duties relative micropile work, including operating equipment such as drill rigs, compressors, grout plants, skid steers, and telehandlers, mixing and pouring grout, cutoffs and clean up.
- Complete pile records the encountered depths and locations.
- Perform routine mechanical maintenance work on drilling rigs and equipment.
- Interact with and follow directions from drilling superintendent, health and safety and operations as required.
- Accurately read and comprehend construction drawings and locates
- Ongoing communication with fellow crew members re: safety concerns, job planning, and instruction are understood by all

- Willingness to continually learn and take on different roles and responsibilities as required.
- Mechanical troubleshooting/basic field repair skills an asset.
- Understanding that all roles are required to work and learning the roles of the crew is essential.

Maintenance Mechanic
Our facility is fast-paced, requiring individuals with the energy and ability to apply their knowledge to our shop and field operations.
You possess some basic welding skills, and have a good understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors and bearings. Electrical troubleshooting skills/knowledge is a bonus.
How to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair heavy equipment and related construction machinery, including repairing and replacing defective parts and performing scheduled maintenance will form part of your daily tasks to support field operations.
You have strong technology/computer skills, can prioritize and can communicate effectively with all levels of staff. You bring, a team player attitude, a willingness to learn, a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving abstract.
The Role:
Check and inspect equipment for proper performance
Perform entry-level service and repairs to equipment such as excavators, drill rigs/power packs, generators and other heavy construction/mining equipment.
Troubleshoot problems in the shop and in the field.
Diagnose to determine the extent of repair required.
Repair and replace defective parts, components and/or systems.
Test repaired equipment for proper performance and that it meets or exceeds manufacturer's specifications.
Learn and update parts inventory.
