Retrofit
EBS offers several technologies for stabilizing/lifting foundations or retrofitting existing foundations to increase load capabilities. Micropiles or helical piers can be installed at the perimeter of the existing structure or interior columns to support the required loads. These deep foundation technologies can be installed in tight access low headroom sites on the interior or exterior of structures as well as open access sites. The pile installation is unaffected by caving soils and groundwater.
Independent of the structure, the piles are extended to depths which can resist the required loads. Helical piers or screw piles can be used in most soil conditions. The installation of helical piers does not produce vibrations or spoils. Micropiles are used when high loads or bedrock embedment are necessary. To complete the helical pile or micropile an engineered bracket is attached at the top of the pile and secured to the existing structure. This will transfer loads from the structure into the helical pile/micropile and into the good load bearing soil or rock at depth.
